In an effort to enhance the products and services available to you, Timberland Bank is upgrading our core banking system and associated products this winter.

What is a Core System?

Our core system is the software that carries out key banking objectives, like opening and managing accounts, maintaining account holder information, processing and posting transactions and more. New products are on the way, along with enhancements to the tools you already enjoy.

The conversion to our new system will be complete on Monday, February 25th and will provide you with increased security and control over your accounts.

How Can You Prepare?

Most of the conversion process will take place behind the scenes, but we would like to bring a few important updates to your attention:

Personal Accounts Business Accounts

Statements:

You will receive a partial statement for each of your accounts, which will include all account activity through February 21st. The activity that occurs between February 22nd and February 28th will be included in your March statement.

Beginning with the March statement, you will receive monthly statements on the last day of each month.

Statements:

Business account holders will receive two partial statements for each account during the month of February.

Please notify bookkeeping staff that you will receive one statement that includes all activity through February 21st. At the end of the month, you will receive a second statement that includes the activity that occurs between February 22nd and February 28th.

e-Statements:

We recommend that all customers enrolled in e-statements download or print one-year’s worth of statements for your records, as your full transaction history may not be available immediately after the transition to the new system is complete on Monday, February 25th.

Business Bill Pay:

Please schedule new online bill payments before Friday, February 15th or after Monday, February 25th, as you will be unable to add new payments during the transition to the new system.

Before the upgrade is complete on Monday, February 25th, we recommend that Online Bill Pay users download or print your full payment history for your records, as some information may not transfer to your upgraded account.

Online Bill Pay:

Please schedule new online bill payments before Friday, February 15th or after Monday, February 25th, as you will be unable to add new payments during the transition to the new system.

Customers who Originate ACH Items:

Please note that Friday, February 15th is the last day to initiate an ACH file to settle no later than Thursday, February 21st.

If you originate recurring ACH items, please cancel them and add them to the upgraded system after Monday, February 25th, as history will not transfer to the new system. We recommend that all ACH customers download and print a list of your recipients for your records.

Please note that all branch locations will be closed on Saturday, February 23rd. The ATMs at each location will be available.

What to Expect During and After the Transition

Online Banking and Associated Services

You may notice some changes and temporary disruptions to your Online Banking services as we transition to the new system.

Online Banking

  • Online Banking will be unavailable from the close of business on Thursday, February 21 through Monday, February 25th as we transition to the new system.

  • Your Online Banking username will remain the same after the conversion, but you will be prompted to update your password after logging in to the upgraded system for the first time.

  • When you log in to the upgraded Online Banking system for the first time, you will need to re-authenticate your account. Then, you will be guided through a brief overview of the new layout and enhanced financial management tools.

Online Transfers

  • After the transition to the new system is complete on Monday, February 25th, you may need to re-enroll in automatic and external transfers.

  • Beginning Monday, February 25th, all Online Bill Pay users will enjoy the ability to send person-to-person payments to anyone, using a cell phone number or email address. Online Banking will no longer feature the ability to make person-to-person transfers to another Timberland Bank account holder.

Online Bill Pay

  • We are upgrading our Online Bill Pay system to make paying bills easier and more convenient than ever! The current Online Bill Pay system will be unavailable during the upgrade and new users will not be able to enroll in the current Online Bill Pay system after Monday, February 11th.

  • Please schedule new online payments before Friday, February 15th or after Monday, February 25th. Bills scheduled prior to February 15th will be processed as scheduled.

  • Your online payment history may not transfer to your upgraded account. Please be sure to print your full transaction history for your records before the upgrade is complete on Monday, February 25th.

  • After the upgrade is complete on Monday, February 25th, please log in and verify that your payee names, addresses and account numbers are correct. This will help avoid disruptions to your scheduled payments.

  • When you log in to the upgraded system for the first time, you will be prompted to answer a challenge phrase.

e-Statements

  • Beginning Monday, February 25th, all customers enrolled in e-statements will enjoy easy access to a rolling 12-month account history.

  • We recommend that all customers enrolled in e-statements download and print one-year’s worth of statements for your records, as your full transaction history may not be available immediately after the transition to the new system. We would be happy to print this for you at any of our locations.

Mobile Banking

  • Timberland’s Mobile Banking app will go offline on Friday, February 22nd. The updated app will be available to download in the Apple and Google Play stores on Monday, February 25th.Please note that you will need to download the updated app in order to continue accessing the mobile banking and check deposit services.

Mobile Check Deposit

  • Mobile access and deposit functions will be unavailable from Friday, February 22nd, to Monday, February 25th. Deposits made between Friday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 24th will post to your account after the conversion is complete on Monday, February 25th.

24-Hour Phone Banking

  • On Monday, February 25th, Timberland's 24-Hour Phone Banking service will be updated with new features. Please listen carefully when you call in and note that some menu options may have changed. Please visit pages 7 and 8 of the 2019 Conversion Guide for the updated 24-Hour Phone Banking prompts.

Timberland Bank Debit Cards

Debit MasterCard

  • Both your debit card number and PIN will remain the same after the conversion. However, your debit card limits may be affected. Beginning Monday, February 25th, all consumer debit cards will feature a standard limit of $2,000. All business debit cards will feature a standard limit of $4,000.

Debit Card Fraud Alerts

  • The security of your accounts is our top priority. If we suspect that your debit card was used fraudulently, you will receive a text message from us to verify a recent purchase. This service will continue as we transition to the new system, but you may notice small changes to the content of these messages. Please note that we will never ask you to verify personal or account information over the phone or via text message.

Business Banking

Remote Deposit

  • Before the transition to the new Remote Deposit system takes place on Thursday, February 21st, a Timberland Bank Cash Management Specialist will contact you to provide assistance on the new system. The existing Remote Deposit system will be unavailable as of Thursday, February 21st and all users will enjoy immediate access to the new system.

Treasury (Cash) Management

  • Treasury Management customers will have access to the new system on Monday, February 25th and will enjoy a robust platform for ACH, automatic payments and more.
